Working with children with special needs and their families
Introductory session

of Full course (12 hours or 2 full days)
This course offers an insight into how to welcome
the family of a child with special needs or a disability into your setting
and identifies certain issues that you need to be aware of when offering
a service with a child/family-centered approach.
It also highlights child development, self esteem and behaviour in relation to children with disabilities and concludes with the legislation, how it affects our work and what you are required to do. Delegates attending this course will need to access further training on observations, record keeping, planning, assessment and the Code of Practice.
